This work considers mass-less things such as human consciousness, thought, relationships with others, behavioral characteristics, social institutions, will, etc. as New Resources, and explores the question of how the protocols for operating them, that is, the things that make up the economic system in the broad sense, will change the world.
The work is made of multiple pieces, and their forms are heterogeneous, composed of software and protocols, installations and prints, and deployed hybridly to the Internet and real space.
In this day and age, those who can handle new resources well can gain great power. For example, Big-tech dominated data, dictatorships dominated information, celebrities dominated attention, and so on.
This work explores the increasingly complex structures of domination, focusing on the latent nature and absurdity of the protocols for operating the new resources.
The work was exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo in 2020.
