This is an original print work of (broadly defined) Generative Art, which restructures the Ukiyo-e drawing style, created in 2013. The work is printed on Washi (=traditional Japanese paper).

It is one of the works within a 2013 project called DECO.r, in which public domain works in digital archives are analyzed from a unique perspective and computer program to create new expressions.
This project was done before the advent of the current AI, and I think it was visionary. It would be a shame to see it disappear, so I decided to sell the print in the hope that someone will have the work.

About Framing
Sheet only (unframed) option
The prints are sold as sheets without framing. You can easily frame your print by choosing one of the recommended frames below.
It is much cheaper to frame the prints yourself.
Framing option
The following recommended simple frame will be used for framing.
Since the unit price of the work is low, we chose a simple frame that is correspondingly inexpensive. In a simple frame, the transparent sheet that protects the surface of the work is made of polyester. Therefore, if you wish to protect the work from fading from ultraviolet rays, please purchase a frame with an acrylic plate of the same size.
Although framing option is available, we strongly recommend that you choose the sheet only option, especially if you live outside of Japan.
The framing option incurs double shipping costs (from the framer to our shop + from our shop to you for standard package shipping based on region and size) and minimal labor charges, which is enough extra cost to buy another print.
- Hooks for hanging on the wall are not included in this option.
- Please understand that frames are purchased from official producers with a stable supply, so they will be more expensive than if you purchase them yourself from Amazon or other sources.
- This is a standard framing, not a conservation framing for expensive works. (Conservation framing is considered when a single work is worth several hundred thousand JPY and more.)
Recommended Frames

IKEA Frames – IKEA LOMVIKEN 32cm
Frames of the size indicated as 32x32cm will fit this work.
Choose a frame with a mat (white window paper).
Any frame will fit, as long as the size column on the product page says “Picture width: 19 cm / Picture height: 19 cm”. Please choose the color and thickness of the frame you prefer.
Please choose a frame that has a *mat.* The mat is a piece of cardboard that covers the work like a window. This work is designed for a white mat.

Anyone can frame a print easily and without much trouble if they know how. However, we have heard from previous purchasers of prints that they had trouble finding or choosing a suitable frame.
Therefore, for Open Edition prints, we have decided to create images with a fixed frame’s size and type. If you use the recommended frames (or the same size) above, you can easily frame your prints. For those who are new to framing, a framing guide will be included with the work.
The quality of the framing depends on the price of the print and your own sense of value.
IKEA frames are beautiful enough, but for flatness and protection from color fading, we recommend framing with an acrylic plate.
Note IKEA frames are cheap, but the transparent material used on the front to protect the print is a film, not a plate, so it will flex a bit. Also, it is not expected to protect against UV rays, which is the main cause of color fading. ( This has not been confirmed, but you may be able to solve these problems by buying a 2mm-thick UV-cut acrylic plate of the same size as the film and replacing it with the film).
Note
- Some of the images shown have a watermark in the lower right corner to prevent plagiarism. The actual works do not have them.
- The images have been converted to a low resolution and narrow color gamut for web viewing, so the impression and colors may differ slightly from those of the actual works. Also, the impression and colors of the work strongly depend on the illumination and color temperature of the exhibition space.
- We reserve the right to raise prices or discontinue sales without prior notice. (We will sell small quantities to verify the operational load.
Buy artworks directly from the artist
In this shop, the artist sells his artworks directly. Do you know the advantages of direct sales?
1. you can encounter works that give you a better sense of the artist’s originality and individuality.
Direct sales allow an artist to offer their new and experimental works most freely and quickly.
When intermediaries such as sales agents or sales opportunities such as exhibitions are used, an artist is required to provide works that have a high chance of selling. This is because the costs of intermediaries and exhibitions are high, and more profit is required. However, a “work that has a high chance of selling” means a work that is suitable for the general taste (when the buyer is unspecified), not a work that is new or superior in its expression.
Direct sales, in which works can be freely offered even before many people have found value in them, are an opportunity for the enjoyment of encountering works and the purity of expectations for the future.
This is my theory based on personal experience, which is not often pointed out, but I think it is the most important advantage of direct sales.
2. The works can be purchased at an affordable price.
By not going through a sales agent, there is no intermediary margin, and the works can be offered at the most affordable price.
3. You can directly support the artist’s activities.
Purchasing artwork is the most important support an artist can receive in their creative process. This is because, compared to other forms of support such as grants, it contributes directly and sustainably to the continuation and development of the creative process, as it allows the artist to integrate the practical cycle from production to release of the work into their life, and the funds obtained are free.
In the case of direct sales, in particular, the artist who has limited funds and time to spare can benefit greatly from the low transaction fees and quick payment. This allows the artist to explore new forms of expression in a quicker cycle.
